Engagement Coordinator

Maya Diaz

Maya Zasil Diaz is a young professional driven by a passion for politics, advocacy, and progressive change. At APS, she helps clients develop strategies to engage community stakeholders, including legislators, local organizations, and the general public.

She has experience in both the political and nonprofit sectors. Prior to APS, Maya was a Program Manager at Tanoma Consulting, where she supported the development of project initiatives and timelines. She also served as a Policy Outreach Coordinator at Illinois Unidos, where she co-developed Workplace Health & Safety legislation, led outreach to state elected officials, and coordinated Legislative Steering Committee meetings.

Maya holds both a BA and MA in Political Science from Marquette University. While in school, she interned in the D.C. Office of Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García and the District Office of State Senator Celina Villanueva, where she conducted policy research, managed constituent services, and supported media communications.

A proud Chicago native, Maya enjoys eating at her favorite local spots and walking her dog along the lake.
