Madeleine graduated in June of 2024 from Lawrence University with a BA in Ethnic Studies and a minor in Gender Studies. They came of age doing social justice work in their hometown of Austin, Texas for issues like Gun Violence Prevention, Equity in Education, Environmental Justice, and LGBTQ+ rights. The majority of their experience is in communications and community engagement such as internships with NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists and the Legacy Project of Chicago, both seeking to create a more equitable future for LGBTQ+ people. Madeleine is excited to gain new skills in Lobbying research and to learn more about the inner workings of APS operations. In the future they hope to develop a vibrant career in nonprofit management creating change at the intersections of class, race, gender, and sexuality
